Keep your launcher
Works with Zez Launcher, your device's home screen, or any other launcher. ZezGesture layers on top; it doesn't compete.
ZezGesture adds edge-based Back, Home, and Recents gestures to Android. They work without ADB. An optional one-time ADB setup can hide the original system navigation bar so your apps take the whole screen.
ZezGesture adds system-wide edge navigation to any Android device. It does not replace your home screen; it works alongside whichever launcher you already use.

Left or right edge swipe for Back. Bottom swipe for Home. Bottom swipe-and-hold for Recents.
Hide the original system navigation bar for the whole screen. Original settings are saved and can be restored at any time.
ZezGesture does not declare the internet permission. Settings, gestures, and any saved system values stay on the device.
The app uses Android's accessibility service to detect gestures from the screen edges and perform Back, Home, and Recents. Nothing else is read, collected, stored, or transmitted.
This is how Android allows an app to perform Back, Home, and Recents. The in-app disclosure explains the use before you opt in.
Exclude ZezGesture from battery optimization so the system does not stop the gesture service. Some manufacturers are more aggressive here than others.
Hiding the navigation bar requires
WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS, which Android only grants
through adb. The app shows the exact command and a copy
button. Gestures work without this step.
Before the first change, ZezGesture snapshots your original navigation settings. Restore system navigation puts them back.
From install to working gestures in a few steps. Gestures work without ADB; the last step is only needed if you want to hide the system navigation bar.
Install ZezGesture, read the in-app disclosure, and enable the ZezGesture accessibility service in Android settings.
Exclude the app from battery optimization so the gesture service keeps running.
Run the displayed adb command once from a computer,
then flip the toggle. The app re-applies the setting after a
reboot.
Tune edge width, swipe distances, hold time, and haptics to match your hand and case.
Straight answers about how the app works and what to expect.
ZezGesture requires Android 10 (API 29) or later.
Android only allows apps to perform Back, Home, and Recents through the accessibility API. ZezGesture uses it solely to detect gestures from the screen edges and perform those system actions. It does not read screen content or other app data.
No. It is a general navigation utility and is not represented
as an accessibility tool for people with disabilities. The
service declares isAccessibilityTool=false.
Yes. The ADB step is only for hiding the system navigation bar. Edge swipes for Back, Home, and Recents work without it.
Hiding the navigation bar requires
WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS, which Android never grants
to apps automatically. ZezGesture displays the complete
adb command; you grant or revoke it manually from a
computer.
No. ZezGesture only handles navigation and works alongside any launcher.
Some devices restrict background services aggressively. Allow unrestricted background battery use for ZezGesture and, where available, lock it in the recents screen.
Toggle the feature off or tap
Restore system navigation before revoking
WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS or uninstalling. Your
original settings are restored from the snapshot taken before
the first change.

ZezGesture ("the app") is a fullscreen navigation-gesture utility for Android. It lets you trigger Back, Home, and Recents with edge and bottom swipes, and can optionally configure the device to hide the on-screen system navigation bar.
This policy explains what the app accesses, what it stores locally, and how its Android permissions relate to your privacy.
ZezGesture collects and shares no personal data. It has no network access, analytics, advertising, tracking, accounts, or cloud storage. Gesture processing, preferences, and optional system-navigation configuration remain on your device.
ZezGesture does not transmit, collect, or share personal data or device data with the developer or any third party. Specifically, it does not:
INTERNET permission.
The app temporarily processes touch coordinates inside its own invisible edge zones only while deciding whether a swipe should trigger Back, Home, or Recents. Those coordinates are not retained or transmitted.
ZezGesture stores only the configuration needed to provide its features in Android's private app storage:
The original system-setting snapshot is deleted after a successful restoration. The app does not store a history of gestures or accessibility activity.
ZezGesture opts out of Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Its preferences and saved system-setting snapshot are not intended to move to another installation or device.
Uninstalling ZezGesture deletes its private app data. However, Android does not allow an app to run cleanup after it has been removed. If ZezGesture changed system-navigation settings, use Restore system navigation before uninstalling so those device settings are returned to their original values.
ZezGesture uses Android's Accessibility Service only to:
The service remains active while enabled even when ZezGesture is not open, so gestures continue to work. Window-content retrieval is disabled, and accessibility events received by the service are ignored. The service does not inspect app interfaces or read, collect, store, or transmit screen content, typed text, passwords, or personal information.
ZezGesture is a general navigation utility and is not represented as an accessibility tool designed primarily to assist people with disabilities. Before opening Android Accessibility Settings, ZezGesture presents a separate in-app disclosure explaining this use and requires you to choose Agree and continue. Choosing Not now cancels the flow and does not enable the service. The service can also be disabled at any time in Android Accessibility Settings.
android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
This optional permission is used only to hide and restore system
navigation locally on your device. It is not granted
automatically. ZezGesture displays complete adb
commands that let you grant or revoke it manually from a computer.
Gestures continue to work if you do not grant this permission.
When enabled, ZezGesture may modify these Android navigation settings:
force_fsg_nav_barhide_gesture_lineback_gesture_inset_scale_leftback_gesture_inset_scale_rightBefore making its first change, ZezGesture stores the exact original values in private app storage. Disabling the feature or choosing Restore system navigation restores those original values. If an earlier app version changed the settings before exact snapshots were supported, ZezGesture can use its legacy restoration defaults.
ZezGesture permits hiding only while its Accessibility Service, Home gesture, at least one Back gesture, and their required gesture zones are active. If its Accessibility Service stops, ZezGesture attempts to restore the original navigation settings while permission remains available.
If you ask ZezGesture to keep navigation hidden, it may re-apply
that choice after a reboot or after the operating system resets
it. ZezGesture does not adopt, re-apply, or restore navigation
settings that were hidden outside the app and are not marked as
app-managed. Restore system navigation before revoking
WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS or uninstalling the app.
This permission is used only for local device configuration. It does not provide ZezGesture with network access and is not used to collect data.
android.permission.VIBRATEUsed only for optional haptic feedback when a gesture is recognized. No data is created, collected, or shared through this permission.
None. The app has no network access and contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking components.
ZezGesture is a system utility and is not directed at children. It does not collect personal data from anyone, regardless of age.
All local preferences and restoration values are held in Android's private, sandboxed app storage. Other ordinary apps cannot access that storage. Android backup and device-transfer extraction are disabled, and no app data is transmitted to the developer or any third party.
